Question

Help answer this question below.

Ok I have a 2006 chevy cobalt and I want to change the oil myself but there is an "oil life meter" that they reset to 100% when you get it changed somewhere else. How would I go about resetting that so it doesnt always say "change oil soon"

Turn the ignition on, but don't start the engine. Now press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor 3 times, allowing it to return all the way each time. This should be done fairly quickly. When you see the change oil soon light flash three times, it's reset. You may have to do this several times until you get the timing just right. If so, remember to turn the ignition off before each attempt.
