      Why do different States have different laws, Black Mystique? Doesn't USA stand for "United States of America"? Having different laws in different States is not synonymous with "united" according to my way of thinking.

      I think you may have a misconception of the USA. Each state is free to govern as the people of that state see fit. Not all states see eye to eye, or it would be called the Unified States of America. On a federal level - the states stand united, with pride, against anyone who would challenge their collective right to their freedom.
  • I don't know about State laws, but I believe laws should be the same everywhere, and wherever it occurs, threatening a minor should be regarded as a serious offence, and of course actually assaulting a minor is even more serious.
