A whore is a prostitute. A slut used to be an untidy woman but now is usually means someone who sleeps around. :}

Common modern usage: Slut - promiscuous person, usually female, that is indiscriminate in their choice and number of sexual partners. Whore - prostitute, usually female, that charges money for sex related services, usually physical acts of sex. Also used derogatorily as a synonym for slut. Orgins of these words: Whore is a very old word, and up into early Roman history it mean someone promiscuous, a seducer or seductress, or someone that had no control of their sexual desires. It didn't come to mean prostitute until later, and became more female specific, and may have originally come from a word that meant lover. Slut is probably related to the word slattern, and comes from either a german or dutch word, both of which had meanings like slovenly, lazy messy, or bad housekeeper. Somehow a term that mean ill kept became promiscuous woman.

a whore is someone who charges others to have sex with them and a slut is a sexually promiscuous person. both are more for describing certain women. ignorant to say, but look it up, it says it is. im a slut by definition i guess. : )
