  • I have Barrett's Esophagus. Its a pre-cancerous disease. I have had to change medications for it three times. Mostly due to side effects. Let your Doctor know about your immunity to the Medication, and he/she should prescribe something else.Good Luck!

  • I had a feeling you asked this question. :) They told me there weren't any medications for IBS that I just had to live with it. Was the medication for diareha or constipation?
  • Since the most common cause of IBS is stress, have you ever thought about treating the cause rather going to doctors looking to get medication to treat the symptoms...? I had IBS myself for years when I was younger, went to specialists, had some pretty undesirable tests done and had different medications, and special diets, none of which worked hardly at all. After doing my own research and finding pretty much everyone agreed the cause of IBS was nervousness and stress, I started looking into ways to practice relaxation techniques, to stop the worrying, and to change my thoughts on a subconscious level. I haven't had IBS in perhaps 30 years now, except on rare occasions when unexpected and sudden stress has struck, and even then it's gone away quickly as I've found ways to cope with the situation and find solutions. Self-hypnosis was one way of changing subconscious thoughts and nervousness that worked for me. Here's a link to a site with lots of inexpensive hypnosis sessions you can download, and they have one for "Irritable Bowel Syndrome" too. http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/
