I've had both. I like the setup of dish better but I like directv's DVR system better(although it freaks out a lot)

I ahd Dish Network for a couple years, and hated that service. Went back to Comcast cable after getting jacked one time too much.

I've never had Dish but I do have Directv and I've never had any major problems. It rarely goes out due to weather or anything. I was moving to the country and compared the two, and I was able to get more channels for less money with Directv. I don't know if Dish offers them now, but at the time I wouldn't have been able to get the extra channels....Dish had Discovery but not Discovery Times and the others as an example, and I couldn't get LMN at the time. Anyway I am perfectly happy with Directv.

Direct TV stinks! They misled me and told me that I could get a phone internet bundle and then they totally screwed up my order. It turns out that no internet is offered in my area. They wouldn't refund my money and then they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee. They finally agreed not to charge me a fee, but they acted like they were doing me some huge favor. They stink, don't use them!
