Where I live is reasonable. But in some cities, it is getting ridiculously expensive.

Cheaper than where? Texas is less expensive than many parts of the US.

As compared to what? And what part of Texas? For example, I live in Virginia and it is ridiculously expensive to live here (Northern VA), but Southwestern VA has a significantly lower cost of living. I'm guessing that there are many parts of Texas that it would be cheaper for me or others to live relative to where they reside now.

I believe that its urban areas are less expensive than many urban areas of the country. However, there are things you have to pay for when you live in Texas that are not paid in cash. I'm talking about the Texas culture. IMO, it was too high a price. There was so much about living in Dallas that was simply not worth it. The attitude of the people was pretentious. It's a very materialistic place. Also IMO, it is a city that pays lip service to piety on Sunday and will do anything for the almighty dollar on Monday. The car you drive can often make or break a possible relationship. All in all, it's a silly place.

Well i live in El Paso TX (not the prettiest city in the U.S. but doable) Over here the cost of living is generally low compared to other places in TX but the reason for that might also be because it's a boarder city (the boarder to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico) but that is just my guess. My husband is originally from NJ and told me many times how ridiculous the cost of living is over there.
