I live in a megalopolis, it's everywhere.

i'm lucky to have a few good options to go for big concerts in my city. only prob is that they're so new that artists usually fly right over us from LA to san fransisco :(

I live about ten minutes away from one of the best-known international concert venues, the Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater. Of course, Chautauqua Institution caters to the more "culturally refined" segment of the population, so you rarely find acts like AC/DC or Snoop Dogg performing there... if ever.

I have several within less than an hours drive.
-
There are a few within about 60 miles or so.
-
I live half an hour from Hampden and the SECC(Scottish exhibition and coference centre)

We have the Cajundome in Lafayette, La. It's pretty good. http://www.cajundome.com/

The closest place would be a 45-minute drive, provided that the traffic wouldn't be bad. But, that is just foolish wishing. Traffic is ALWAYS a problem.

The Kodak Theater is about 10 miles away and seats about 3,500. It's nicely appointed and somewhat plush. The Staples Center is about 15 miles away and seats about 20,000. We saw Michelle Branch open for the Dixie Chicks there about 5 years ago. The Pasadena Rose Bowl is about 15-20 miles away and seats about 100,000. We saw the Red Hot Chili Pipers open for the Rolling Stones there but the backless-bleacher seating sucks.

we have several near by... Nissan, merriweather post, kennedy center, and more... I live in northern VA, just outside Washington DC...

What, you don't want to drive up to Nissan Pavilion to get wasted?
