  • No, not if one are dead set on moving out. However, a mother has more years, and more life experience. She may have perfectly valid reasons for not wanting her child to move. She may see that he/she just isn't ready, and she may be right.
  • yea. but it is my personal opinion that there are very few reasons to "disrespect" your mother. likewise she shouldn't disrespect her children and she should always have their best in mind
  • In some states, the age of majority is more than 18. You might live in one of those states, in which case you would have to go to court to be allowed to live on your own. If you do not live in one of those states, you can move whenever you have the financial ability to do so.
  • Its okay for her to tell you that. But that doesnt mean you have to stay.
  • Sure she has freedom of speech. Do you have to stay? No. Do you want to burn a bridge? That's your call.
