this is a fascinatingly subjective question..although you were hoping to be objective. ive seen folks who are vegetarians and say they are dedicated to all life ..who have been abusive to spouses, children, animals, etc. not picking on vegetarians (just making an extreme point sorry)... ive seen some of the meanest folks in the world who are the kindest to animals, human or other. and some of the kindest folks in the world, do horrible things to their fellow creatures, pets and animals. quite an interesting diachotomy

I suppose we can take this to the extreme and consider "life" to include plant life, insect life, sea life, animal life and human life. We kill them all. Sometimes without thinking, many times intentionally. If you're talking about hunting, most hunters respect the game they hunt. They study their quarry, stalk it, try to kill it as quickly as possible and then further honor it by consuming it. This has been going on over a million years and seems to have helped keep alive the human animal.
