Want to add that the problem is on my computer end cause the sites I am trying to access are working - our other computers can access them fine. Ran a security software, spydoctor, and it quarantined 122 infections. Any thoughts on what the problem might be and how to fix it would be helpful. TIA!

Have you tried installing another browser on your computer? The problem might be with your IE. Maybe try firefox. It's a free download. I switched to it and have had better luck than with IE. Do a google for Mozilla Firefox if you'd like to give it a try.

I'm just going to throw this thought out there, as I've seen similar issues with IE, especially with logging into secure servers, such as Microsoft update. Do a spyware scan on your Pc and see what it turns up. There are a number of "free" apps out there right now, that allegedly are there to help you with registry issues etc and one even is a spyware cleaner itself, that actually throw up a mini firewall, preventing you access to those secure sites, like microsoft update and others. Funny thing is, the one that's a "spyware cleaner" even lists itself as spyware when run. Give spybot search and destroy along with adaware a shot. Other than your personal firewall settings being set too high, it's all I can think of at the moment. Edit: I'm assuming you are using the Xp SP2 firewall.Medium shouldn't be an issue for a site that hasn't got a reputation for harboring trouble. Have a look up near the address bar, next time you try the sites in question. See if a thin yellow warning bar shows up, saying something about active X or java. You may have to authorize sites that have these controls, to be able to see them. Sorry, I really can't think of much more. I haven't used IE in years because of issues like this and others. That's about tapped my database (brain case) out on the issue. Also, yes, use at least two spyware detectors. The two I mentioned Spybot search and destroy and Adaware are recognized as the best and they work and play well with each other, many don't.

I was creating a website for my brother-in-law and was told by the Webhost people that because I had so much script, I had to download the most recent version of IE in order for me to navigate through the site. My suggestion is to install IE again with whatever is the highest version out there. good luck
