American Idol is asking Americans to ship money overseas to solve problems across the Atlantic. Don't the American people complain when the government does it? Is this hypocritical?

I think it's a good idea. Just like you and I were talking about. American Poor and other country poor is totally different. Even watching the show. The American kids were in a bad spot but their parents were alive and they had a home, in Africa the kids parents were dead and they were eating dirt and being raped...anywho I hear people saying that they should take care of the people in this country first and i do agree but if we want to donate OUR own money to Africa then that is totally awesome!

I'm American and I find it thoughtful of the government to help other countries. Some people however are hypocritical. But in my opinion they are selfish. I know America has its own problems, but we should help other people too.
