David Sarnoff aka 'The General'. He was the first person to see radio as an entertainment medium rather than just a communications tool. He persuaded RCA to broadcast a boxing match between Jack Dempsey and Georges Carpentier in 1921. Sarnoff was also responsible for creating the National Broadcasting Company aka NBC. Sarnoff, along with Dr. Vladimir Zworykin, made television a reality here in the US(although the BBC in the UK was first to broadcast via television in 1936, and Germany was also doing TV back then), and in 1953, convinced the FCC to accept the 'compatible color' dot-sequential, NTSC color standard over CBS's non-compatible 'field-sequential' color system, which was mechanical and incompatible with existing black-and-white sets.. I have an interest in television broadcast equipment, that's one reason I picked this man.
