I'm looking for honest advice. I've had recurring yeast infections for the past year, in fact one each month for the past 3 months.I tested negative for: diabetes, HIV, BV, trichomonosis and STD's. Does anyone have SUCCESSFUL remedies? Thank you.

If you have a partner you are sexually active with, he may be giving it to you unknowingly. Another thing that can cause recurring yeast infections is douching. Your vagina needs to have the good bacteria in there to fight off the bad.

Ok, first while taking a shower get up there and scoop as much as you can out if there, that will help relieve some discomfort. Then get Primadophilus (it needs to be refrigerated) until it goes away then use acidophilus regularly.

I am very prone to them myself esp when i take antibiotics. i used acidopholus while taking the meds and it prevented it.

I'd recommend the book "Our Bodies Our Selves: A New Edition for a New Era". It's got a TON of amazing information and many of the women I know who have it, love it. It's a book specifically about Women's health, and it's pretty darn big (848 pages).

I find that going to the doctor and getting that single-dose pill for yeast infections usually does the trick. You might even want your partner to get treated just in case, so you're not passing it back and forth. I think Canesten now has a pill you can get without a prescription. For maintenance, I take acidophillus pills in between infections to maintain my good bacteria. I also try to avoid sugary foods and wearing tight pants.
