Why bible calls God a living God (immortal), since he died on the cross (as mortal)?

God the Father, God the Spirit and God the Son - God the Father didn't die on the cross - Jesus his son did. So he was both mortal and immortal, just as he was both God and Man. Confusing i know.... but that's the trinity for you. :P

The trinity is a doctorine of men, not the Word of God. It is clear from the scriptures that Jesus is God's son and is not God himself. Jesus himself said that "the Father is greater than I am." So God the Almighty is immortal and did not die.
