White and taupe, in my opinion look pretty good together. If you want a trendy look, I would go with a white button up, full length sleeve with some detail to it. Maybe a very small pattern or stripe, or some nice stitching. It's classic, and the stitching will make alot of difference. Just a plain, ironed, crisp, white shirt looks like you just came from the office. Good luck! (and don't forget to match your socks to your pant color! Too many men forget that. It elongates your leg, so you don't look cut off at the feet. [In case you didn't know.])
