My Hubby worked in the IT department of one of their divisions. His division was recently sold, so he works for a different employer now. He's been on the same job 20 years, in the same location 15 years, and yet worked for five different owners.

I currently work for Home Depot however I work in the store itself. I'm not familiar with the IT department unless you mean Technical Support better known as the "help desk".
