Ive been tring to play a game it says it requires directx 8 or above i have directx 10 but when i try to play it it comes up error to get directx9 renderer what do i do?

most older games dont know how to handle newer versions of direct X. the latest version of direct x i've seen is 9.1 c so having 10 is probally one issue... You can easily search for a down grade or a different version of direct X through google or other search engine... just make sure you get a version that is compatable with games you have now usually something early 9 works just fine with games that require 8. I've had to do this with tron 2.0 and a few others.
