  • I really don't think it's a matter of teachers being mean. There are a LOT of disrespectful students out there and they do not treat teachers very well at all. Teachers enjoy their jobs and they enjoy the people who want to be taught. School environments aren't what they used to be. It's like a social hour anymore instead of a healthy learning environment. My college instructors are great and some people think they are mean, but they are seriously trying to prepare us for what it's like in the REAL WORLD. Once these students get out into life, they are going to have a very, very hard time going anywhere in life because people don't tolerate disrespectful individuals well. The world does not revolve around them. Keep working hard, it does pay off.
  • G'day Lilem23m Thank you for your question. They don't. In fact, it is better if they are helpful, kind and understanding. However, they do have to take a strong stance against disruptive students. Regards
  • Ok, I think the answer is why do you feel they are mean? What have you done to get this treatment? Just think of what this teacher has to go through everyday and how unrewarding it is.
  • Upset one of your teachers then eh?
  • They're not supposed to be.
  • why do kids have to be so stupid? as teachers we are told constantly that we must hold students accountable. i find that we do a lot of the "police work" that parents are unwilling or unable to do. we also respond to the way we are treated by our students. while kids don't see indifferent disrespect as a malicious act, it is when there are thirty goddamn people in a room where there is only one person that must be paid attention to & it's not happening. i don't have discipline problems, so naturally my students think i'm mean until they get to know me. besides, kids are ridiculously sensitive. if you look at them "wrong", you're automatically mean...
  • I think they're just burned out. When it gets to that stage they should step aside.
