  • Quit cold turkey. Went from 3 packs a day to 0. You have to really WANT it.
  • My brother once did a TrainSpotting stint and handcuffed himself to his bed with several buckets and supplies. He released himself (with the key from his girlfriend at the time) after a day and was clean for about three days. It was the follow up that did it. Probably should have used patches or something.
  • i smoke till now and ive been thinking on how to quit sooner. i think the best way is to motivate urself. and think of how many u can save when u quit smoking at keep the money u used to buy cigars and see how many u can save as much as u save ur life... ^__^ good luck to both of us!!!
  • I started by dropping down my intake each dayover about a month to two a day. Then after two weeks of two a day I was down to one. I believe weaning yourself off slowly is far better for you.
  • Cold turkey - keep away from situations you smoke more in for the first few weeks. the physical symptoms pass in a week or so. then it's all in the head. Put the money you would have spent on cigs to one side, as a reminder....

  • Get yourself a dose of Flu and lay on your back, not knowing what world your in for five days , the when you feel better try and drag on a fag.....Ugh! Thats what happened to me .....its beeen fourteen years since, after 37 years of smoking. I can tell you one thing I feel a lot better for having packed up.
