Your terms are a bit confusing here, at least to me. Androgynous is usually a description of physical appearance. Do you mean people who are gender-neutral, who don't consider themselves as *mentally* male or female, or people are intersex, neither/both male and female by means of internal and external genitalia and sex organs?
there is a study recently about people who swap genders online (e.g. girl pretends to b guy n vice versa). so be careful about people who say they are a girl (Guy In Real Life)! lol
I always thought people like "It's Pat!" were "androgynous". You're talking Trans-gendered? Probably 2 in a million or so.
I don't know, Kev..but the whole gender thing is very sad..that is, if I were a female trapped in a male body I think I'd be so miserable..and vice versa. Bein androgynous would be awful as well. I have never understood those who make fun of such people..I always feel happy if they are able to do something... operations, psychological counseling, whatever, to make the outside and the inside compatible. It would not be an easy life no matter what you do or don't do..I don't think being ridiculed is ever helpful! :( PC
*sigh* Androgyny, transexual, transvestite, and hermafrodite are different things.
Androgyny: is a person who does not fit cleanly into the typical masculine and feminine gender roles of their society. Being mentally "between" woman and man, or as entirely genderless. Its NOT about sex change at all.
Transsexualism: is an individual's identification with a gender inconsistent or not culturally associated with their biological sex. A medical diagnosis can be made if a person experiences discomfort as a result of a desire to be a member of the opposite sex.
Transvestism: (also called transvestitism) is the practice of cross-dressing, which is wearing clothing traditionally associated with the opposite sex.
Hermaphrodite: has reproductive organs normally associated with both male and female sexes.Refers to intermediate or atypical combinations of physical features that usually distinguish female from male.
androgyny isnt something to feel sorry for, its usually a choice, or a way others can describe someone who blurs the line between male and female in appearance. are you talking about hermaphrodites perhaps?

You're reading How many androgynous people do you think there are in the world and what is the percentage rate of androgynous born children compared to those that are born into a gender?

or people are intersex, neither/both male and female by means of internal and external genitalia and sex organs? <<< I thought that was a hermaphrodite.

Hermaphrodite is an out-dated term, so far as I've been taught, but I admit that's not my strong point of study. Although, at very least, it sounds -less- like something that'd be plastered in all caps on a porn site.

Yes I did not use the term hermaphrodite.
I wonder what the answer is.
