  • Nobody here can really answer that. Your best bet is to have a mechanic inspect it. That way, you know exactly what you're getting. When you buy a used car, it's "as is" and it's extremely difficult to recoup any losses should something go wrong. Good luck.
  • For a daily driver, that is not a serious problem (It is most likely a fusible link)... If the price of the car is right, it is probably a simple fix. I'd be more worried about the drivetrain. A bizillion Taurus cars/wagons have puked up a transmission or two by around 90K miles, and it is about an $1800 repair each time. Other than that, a Taurus is a lot of car for not a lot of money.
