Wow, that is a really thought provoking question. It would really be so very hard. But if I thought it could help all concerned I think I could do it. But it would be a very heavy thing to do. It would involve a lot of my time spent in prayer for guidance.

Pen pal'ing is a hobby. I engage in hobbies for STRESS REDUCTION. So I'd have to say: no, because the emotions involved would be the opposite of stress reduction.

well if the person involved is bothering to write back theres something good inside them and may have made a terrible mistake (or may be innocent-yes very unlikely i know!) i would be very unsure of the person and i would be carful in the things i wrote, incase he/she had connections in the outside world! i would like to write to people in prison as every1 needs a release from there life, im not sure about some1 on death row though, probably not too be honest

I would have to agree with "Kal". Having a brother who has had a VERY hard and messed up life, including several stints in prison, it really WOULD depend on the person. While I don't condone anything he has done, (to end up there), if he did end up on death row, I think I would still try to correspond with him. But, I would always have, in the back of my mind, the family of his victim/victims, (if any), and not ever let him think I was "okay" with what he did to get there!

I've thought about this a few times. One day I will see if someone on death row or serving a life sentence would like to correspond with me. I have my reasons, but don't really care to explain why here.

Firstly id have to ask myself if i could handle doing that,for a start it would depend on what they have done how mayjor the crime was. If it was killing someone or rapeing then no,if it was for robbing a bank or something like that then yes possibly

I already am, and write to many who are not just a prisoner, but also on death row.
