Not sure but here in Britain, he has been very useful. Especially to the comical soceity.
-
historians will make no judgments on him until way after his presidency. they need to be able to see the long term effects he has had.
-
I think, with the events that have happened, and with the long term results, decades from now,I would say it could be a good chance.
-
I'm really dumb, so I guess it's hard for me to consider any historians considering president Bush because his term isn't finished yet. It's a lot easier to look back on something if it's well in the past. Uuuggh, that makes no sense and I can't believe I'm hitting "Submit". Well, here we go...
-
I doubt they would consider him the wost president ever, because he HAS done a lot of good that has been seriously overlooked. And who knows, in 100 years, maybe the Middle East will be completely stable because of stuff going on now. While very unlikely... he may be doing more long term good than we think.

There have been several polls of historians who did place George Walker Bush at or near the bottom of the list. The extent of the damage and crimes committed by Bush won't be fully known until he leaves office, since he is actively suppressing information that could reduce the opinion of him with not only historians but everyone else, even lower than it is now. And the consequences of bad management, corruption and incompetent policies might take time to catch up with the US, including the backlash against us for illegally invading another country, especially an Islamic Middle Eastern country. But there's no doubt George W. Bush is among the worse, the question will be, just how bad was he?
-
i think the president that starts a nuclear war can be considered the worst president ever. i mean when it comes down to it the people that make the most decisions is congress. the president is just a symbol and someone to take the blame for things when they go wrong. thats just my opinion.
-
I think most do, but we won't know all those results until he is out of office. I think his approval rating is a pretty good indication, however.
-
Better to phrase is "will they.." Untill his term is over, there is no complete "history".. even then it will take probably a decade to see the full imoact oh his actions. That said,... He will probably be in the bottom 10
-
Actually, no. Most consider Warren G. Harding (and some) Herbert Hoover to be the worst or among the worst.
-
History has to happen for it to be considered. He's not even out of office yet.lol!
-
they may make base decisions now, but you really can not see the full effect of his time in office now. right now you see the 4000 deaths of the war. you may look at that and say it is a horrible. but in three years, after he is gone, we are not able to get out of the war he started. if we have 20,000 deaths how do you feel about him then?
-
I'm not sure how historians currently view him, but my humble opinion is that he will go down in history as the worst president of all time.
-
Ask in 100 years. I've been reading a book about James A. Garfield, and you'd be surprised just how similiar the two were. OK, President Bush wasn't assasinated after 80 days, and never will be hopefully, but a lot of the other biographical stuff and the political happenings were very similiar. From reading books about Presidents and their campaigns from the 1800s, one learns a very valuable lesson -- nothing that's happening today is even close to 'new.'
-
It's not a very good idea to think of history as it happens....before anyone's going to call him the worst president ever, some time will need to pass before you can make any kind of real judgment.
-
One of the worst yes.
-
He's gotta be right up there with Nixon.
-
As a historian I think he will have this title for the next 200 years to come.
-
No, popularity is one thing but tis far too early to tell if he is the worst and even when, it will be debatable. How Iraq ultimately does will perhaps be his greatest measure.
-
I believe so. And from what history I know, I believe so too. Imagine going down in history as the worst. But he is such a dufus it won't keep him awake at night.
-
History hasn't yet had a chance to look at Bush in retrospect.
-
Has Bush left any historians alive?
