It depends what they call dating.Just going to the movies with a group and one of them is a boyfriend is not bad.But going out to a party together...well what do boyfriends and grilfriends do when at a party???Makeout!

For what I would call a conventional date--yes I think it is young....for going to an afternoon movie or spending a day together at the park..no that is just cute.

6th grade equals 11 or 12 years old. I think that might be a bit young for "dating" if "dating" consists of the young man picking up the young lady and taking her (name of place) and bringing her home. I'm thinking about the age of driver's licenses is a practical age to begin actual "dating".

I think dating is better left to people that are in a position to find a mate and then marry them, not used for recreational purposes or just for sport or because everyone else is doing it. I think you need to be somewhat mature and have good common sense so as not to hurt others needlessly or get hurt yourself from being careless.

Bah, don't let people tell you the right age to date. I personally love to cruise around the elementary school in my ice cream truck to pick up chicks.
