If the phone is indeed "Unlocked", it is no longer a Nextel 'phone, so you should have no problem. You will have to contact AT&T and give them the IMEI number of the device ( phone ), so they can register it on their network. Also, the originally "Nextel" phone may not TX & RX on all the AT&T frequencies, so you may experience some problems. AT&T operate on the GSM standard. Not sure what Nextel uses. Check this out before comitting $$ on a useless purchace.
