  • That is a blood spot which denotes a very fresh egg, it is only aesthetically bad there is no danger or flavor compromise.
  • That signifies that the egg was fertilized. It is NOT an indication of freshness. Remove the spot and the egg is fine. Or eat it with the spot, it won't hurt you.
  • Sounds like your hen met up with the rooster b/f the egg got to you! Just means that if it had been sat on instead of shipped out to the store, you'd be eating chicken tenders instead of scrambled eggs. Eat it! Just means there's a little more protein in there ;-)
