One of the simplest solutions would be to drink water, but you have to drink LOTS of water. The best remedy in my case was to chew gum. Hope this hrlps =) .

The best way to get rid of it is to drink milk. The milk is strong enough to break the bonds that the molecules from the Jalapenos have stuck to your taste buds.

The best way to stop the burning from anything you eat is to pour a little salt on your tongue.

Falconrath's answer (drinking milk) is correct. Please see following excerpts: "If you find that you simply can't bear the heat after eating a chile pepper, try to consume a dairy product, like milk, yogurt, or ice cream. Dairy products contain a chemical called caisen that combats the effects of chile peppers' capsicum by stripping it from it receptor site on the skin. I've also tried sugar and that seems to work in a pinch." --http://www.jalapenomadness.com/jalapeno_faq.html Also: "A compound called capsaicin, which is found mostly in a pepper's seeds and membrane, is responsible for the heat. Not only can this powerful compound make your tongue feel like it's on fire, it can also burn skin and eyes. (Consider wearing rubber gloves when handling hot peppers and avoid any contact with your eyes.) If you've unwittingly eaten a super-spicy pepper, don't reach for water to soothe your palate. It won't stop the burning because capsaicinoids are not soluble in water. Try drinking milk or eating ice cream instead; the fat in both will help wash away the capsaicin.
