What hurts more, getting a tattoo or getting it taken off?

I have heard that laser removal is much more painful.

I didnt remove my tattooes that i didnt like i just got them covered over i had a horrid angel on my wrist it didnt come out too well i had it when i was younger but then i had a beautiful butterflie on top of it you wouldnt even notice its one of my favourites now :) http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/litha1968/DSCF1490.jpg
