Why do airlines restrict bringing personal items like a razor and nailclippers on the plane when they use real silverware for meals anyway?

Have you seen the knives they give. They are no where as sharp as a razor. People can just break the plastic part and get the blades out. Edit: When I have flown since 9-11 the plance have given the kind of knives that people you for spreading. You would have to saw pretty hard to give yourself a small cut. Although I don't know if someone could stab somebody with them.

Razors and nailclippers are sharpe items that can cut wiring on the plane. the plastic knives and forks they provide, are dull. very dull. the last flight i was on, did not serve anything but a cold sandwich, peanuts and coffee. Sharp items, gas-filled items, and lighters are forbidden for obvious reasons. After all, its our safety they are trying to protect and i thank them for it.
