Generosity does not have to involve money or material posessions. Sometimes people need other things, like advice, someone to keep them company, or even somebody who will listen. Volunteer work is a great way to give without having to spend money.

I was thinking that you can give what you can, whether that be: 1)Making a Cake for someone or maybe some sweets. 2)Your quality time. 3)Listening to someone who just wants to pour everything out on the line. 4)Maybe go out with a group that will be handing out items to the homeless to keep them warm. I would like to read other ideas on how to give. I think it is very important that we all know how to give of ourselves. Thanks for participating in this question.

Give love, it doesn't have to be material things. Be kind and nice to everybody and spread good feelings. Just think how wonderful the world would be if everybody did that. That's what I try to do. That is why I'm here, to try and help some people. I am disabled and have nothing, but I do have 50+ years of life experience and if I can change someone's life for the better then my life was worth it no matter how bad my condition is or going to be.

You give what you can, and from the heart. It isn't about quantity, it's about sincerity and feelings, devotion and love.

a rich man who have a million dollars gave 100 dollars to a cause. a poor man with 10 dollars gave 5 dollars to the same cause. Who gave more? the rich man less then 1% of his money but the poor man gave 1/2 (50%) the poor man gave more. It is not by the amount we give but the selfless act of giving.

How much you give is less important than the giving itself. There's a beautiful Biblical parable on the subject. This is the Wikipedia summary: The Lesson (or Parable) of the widow's mite is a story present in the Synoptic Gospels (Mark 12:38-44, Luke 20:45-47,21:1-4), in which Jesus is teaching at the Temple in Jerusalem. The Gospel of Mark specifies that a mite was worth less than a quadrans, the smallest Roman coin, implying that Mark's intended audience were more familiar with Roman culture than with Jewish. Witnessing the donations made by the rich men, Jesus highlights how a poor widow donates only two mites, the least valuable coins available at the time. But, Jesus observes, this sum was everything she had to her name, while the other people give only a small portion of their own wealth.

In my opinion, a real friend appreciates his or her friend's company over materialistic things.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to give when you don't have the financial means to give money. It is a wonderful way to give in addition to financially also.
