Ok so this is going to sound really petty, but my boyfriend uses his ex girlfriends surname as his password for everything as he says its the only one he remembers, why does this bother me so much? Our r/s is perfect but this bugs me!

Isn't that great? You know all of his passwords ;) Well, I think it's normal for you to feel that. You're his g.f. after all. It's not as if you're just one of the many. But you can ask him to change all of his passwords and use your surname instead ;)

I use my ex girlfriends birth date for part of my password, and it's not because I have feelings for her - her birth date is REALLY easy to remember. So that's likely the same thing that's going on with him. The sheer fact that you know his passwords shows that he trusts you and didn't think twice about using her surname. Plus using your name would be easy to guess. If it means a lot to you and you tell him that it bugs you (even though you know it's meaningless), I'm sure he'll change them. You just have to come up with a better password =)

A password is a word, a mix of letters and numbers, or a mix of words with maybe a number or two thrown in. Nothing more, nothing less. Even so, if he knows how much it bothers you, and you can't get past that it's also his ex's name, you COULD ask him to change it. If he doesn't, though, don't worry about it. It's just a word, now, to him, and nothing more.

yeah...that would bother me too...I mean really...ugh. you guys are living together right? He should change all of them to your last name then. He can't forget that now can he? Plus it isn't a secret from you if you know what his passwords are now right? I'd ask him to make the adjustment.

jealousy is not becomming... using her name for a password indicates no interest in getting back to gether with her because a password needs to be something people would NOT suspect.

Have him switch it to your name. He's gotta remember that one. especially if you bring it up to him. :)
