Yeppers. It's happened a few times...makes me look like a lunatic because it never seems to make any sense. Ah well;)

Yeah, I guess we're all prone to do that every once in a while. For most people it happens when it's on a subject that that person is particularly passionate about, and for others, they just don't know when to get to the point and shut up. It all depends on the question, too. If it's a question with several questions in it, and several issues need to be addressed, it's not hard for someone to turn an answer into an essay of sorts. And if it's pretty late, or that person isn't really literarily perfect, then they would have to be pretty proud of the long, lengthy and customized advice that they're giving to a complete stranger. Plus, you have to look at the satisfaction that some ABers get when they feel that they've really made a difference in someone's life, especially if that individual had a difficult circumstance to deal with and really did need someone's help in dealing with it. Of course it's pretty easy for that person's pride to be hurt when they are notified that they're answer has been downrated. Now that's a real bummer, and one that could lead to another questions for yet another ABer with nothing but time on their hands to help out with. It's a never ending cycle... Hmmm...I'm feeling very proud right about now. I guess a simple "yes" would have done it ;-)

Yes, I've done that on occasion. I sometimes neglect to count the number of words I type in, and it ends up being a "short story" rather than a plain simple answer. Lately, though, I've been changing my style by giving more "quips"----short, concise and witty answers----sort of like haiku where the most simple words convey the best message. lol. Hi Kitt-tastic. Spoke to your dear hubby earlier today. How are you doing? (((hugs)))

Often.

Happens quite often, actually. ;-)

Yes, but hopefully I can alway notice that I am rambling and stop myself before I look like a complete idiot.

Many times. I just hope the questioner takes the time to read my entire answer.
