  • (assuming that, when you said 'man' you mean 'being') Because religious people say they have (been given) evidence & proof (in books, people, what happens on earth and the universe's design etc...). Obviously, non-religious people will say the proof doesn't exist or it was coincidence or something else happened. The choice is yours, who you believe!
  • Because they either think they have evidence for it or have Faith. Why they would have either of these is something that can only be judged case-by-case, and I won't generalise about that (there are far too many religious people with dangerously fragile sensibilities for me to ethically hypothesise about their beliefs in a public forum like this).
  • I can't think of any religion that believes in an invisible man, an invisible spirit maybe or a huge elephant, but no man. Of curse no man could do that. But you don't know what a spirit can or can't do. And it's 6 billion people on th earth and counting, maybe 7 by the time you read this:-)
  • Man!!! I would really love to be next to you on judgment day!!!
  • because they long ago didnt know how the world was made, and thought up the invisible man(god) to answer their questions about the planet, and it stuck.
  • I don't really know the answer to this. I am a christian, I have a relationship with, and follow the way of Christ as He helps me to do so. I have never heard of any religion that believes in an invisible man that created anything, or one that tortures his followers. That is an "interesting" question though. Thanks.
  • Jesus wasn't invisible. You'll soon find out the hard way.
  • I don't think all religious people believe this. Being religious may just mean believing in a higher power.
  • Because Religion gives otherwise mediocre people the false notion that they really are something.
  • first up, God is NOT a man. His son did become one for a short time. The torture comment is a direct steal from the false teachings of false religion... (John 4:23-24) Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.” Jesus directed all worship to his Father [ Jehovah / Exodus 6;3 ] Jesus NEVER accepted worship of himself.
