  • vice versa With the order or meaning reversed; conversely. adv : with the order reversed; "she hates him and vice versa" [syn: the other way around, contrariwise] [Latin vice vers : vice (position) + vers, (to turn)] Source: The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition Copyright © 2000
  • "Either Or"
  • Either or, or the other way about/around.
  • vice versa is basically back to front. Say you drive your car forwards, then stop, then drive backwards, vice versa is drive backwards, then stop, then forwards. Or another way to explain would be, Jimmy takes a biscuit, then Alan does, when you say "or vice versa", meaning: Alan takes a biscuit, then Jimmy does. Hope i explained properly.....
  • The sequel of Miami Vice ; )
  • Vice versa means that what you have just said is also true in the opposite order: He doesn't trust her, and vice versa (= she also doesn't trust him). Vice versa is often used incorrectly: He answered her question and vice versa (= he answered her question and her question answered him). This is obviously nonsense.
