  • Do you really believe that Hillary or McCain have the ability to unify the country? McCain cannot because of the, sorry to say, much diserved critiques of the Rupublican party over the last 8 years, and Hillary is going to have a much harder time getting people to accept her as the leader of the free world than has been discussed in the media. Believe this; it doesn't matter who becomes President so long as we get rid of this administration. As for the racial division. Let me put it this way. I am one of the biggest racists that I know and I am supporting Obama 100%.
  • He has no ability to do so, and the racial divide will become much greater.
  • When Obama talks about unify, he means politically not racially. It's the media pundits and his opponents that have tried to make his campaign about race (which really shows how racist this country still is.) Barack Obama's campaign is not about him being black, it's about the changes this country needs. Get over the fact that he is black. (He's also half white of course.) Remember the important issues facing this country: The War. The Economy. Health Care. Barack Obama has the right answers on all of the big issues facing this country (or at least better answers than McCain) ... That's why we should be supporting Barack Obama. Let us not forget the issues! And remember it is not Obama's campaign that has brought race into this.. race. It's the media.
  • I think he has the charisma to hold a enough people together, the intellegence to learn, the goal to not let race issues interfer to do the job. It will be a sharp learning curve, but I think he is smart enough to use the experience of others in his Party. He may be considered ignorant in some ways, yes, but given time he may be able to make right choices. He has been doing well on the race issue by not letting it bother him and not reacting to it. That's the best way. Remember Jackie Robinson who broke the "color barrier" in baseball. His mouth was glued shut by the Dogers owner for at least the first year. His hall of fame election should have been as much for his self control as his baseball ability.
  • I like the guy...but he doesn't have the stuff to do it. He will never get enough support also. Unless he prove it otherwise, he will remain as a president by luck for this country. This is just what I think today.
  • Oh, yes....he is going to unite this country, alright. +5
  • Well he's managed to unite many Right Wing Zealots, and moderate Republicans, against him. Just by existing.
