I think so. My mums 45 and she asks me if I think what she wears makes her look like shes trying to look young etc...
-
Not at all, clothes are just that clothes and they don't dictate what the person is like.
-
If she is in her 40's like my wife and looks great- works out, eats right and looks like she is 25 and buys her own cloths then there is no stopping her. No borrowing other young peoples clothes!
-
Absolutely not! She has the right to dress the way she chooses. This link will give you all the answers you need. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/643022

You said in a comment to someone's answer that she wears your clothes. I would find it hard to respect my mother if she wore my clothes. She is my mother and she is married and she can wear her own clothes. Thankfully, she is a modest dresser who does wear her own clothes.
-
I can understand how that would make you uncomfortable, but you must respect your mother...you will be a better person for it.
-
I really most respect a 42 year old mother's independence and her willingness to express herself however she pleases. She's earned it.
-
No, I don't find it hard to respect a 42 year old woman who can fit her daughter's clothing and look good in it. I can't do anything BUT respect a woman who can keep herself together like that. But it begs an interesting question; how does a 42 year old mother dress? Who gets to determine what is or is not appropriate?
-
If she looks good in them I wouldn't care. I think it looks better on a hot older women than it does on a younger skank. I dunno. I think when a 16 year old wears a midriff bearing shirt, it's for attention and and the ability to make other people feel like that can't look that way, and it ultimately just makes them look trashy. A 42 year old's objective isn't to make other girls jealous and to make immature boys look. I think it's more to be like "I'm 42, and I've still got it." That's something I can respect a little more I think.

Hmmm, well her age really does not have anything to do with it, for me. The fact of the matter is, it has nothing to do with respect for me, either. I do have a problem with women who do not dress to their body type, though. Just because they make hot pants in a size 24, does not mean you have to wear them... kwim? But hey, even if she is as size 24 and is wearing low rise jeans... more power to her! She ought to be comfortable!
-
depends, is she still a hottie?? -your view will change when you are 42 as well

Could you post some photo? I would really like to see that before I make any judgements :P
