They were are an easy target. Few people know anything about Kazakhstan or can even locate it on a map. This emerging nation is set to become one of the top five oil producers in the next decade; and in the past six years it has had an annual growth rate of about 10%. People won't be laughing at Kazakhstan much longer.

Most Americans and (many Brits) don't know squat about the rest of the world, especially ones that aren't major players or ones that aren't in the news very often. Kazakhstan is one those many countries. It is also one of the largest countries in terms of land mass. Look on any world map or globe and it stands out significantly.
