  • Belief, whether in something that is true or false, is the acceptance of information as the truth. From an old philosophy class, I remember this analogy: If you had only seen one swan in your life, and it was a black swan, you might believe, via inductive reasoning, that all swans were black. Obviously that is not true, but belief does not imply truth-- Only your perception of truth.
