  • I'm afraid that it's likely you. If you had to agree to any sort of long winded legal document, before applying that update, you better believe 'ol Billy Boy has his caboose covered and not yours. He wasn't sitting in your living room pointing a gun at you telling you to update or else. I knew there was a reason I'm waiting for the PS3 and never bought into the 360 hype.
  • You should be able to appeal to Microsoft if the issue is SOFTWARE based. If it is a hardware failure, then it's likely their software updated did not cause the hardware to fail unless it involved the 360's firmware.
  • This exact issue just happened to me and eight of my friends within a weeks time. After an update all of my friends with 1st Gen Xbox 360s have the Three Red Lights Ring of Death. Microsoft should take accountibility for this because it is an action of microsoft's that caused the failure not of my own or "An Act of God" as the warrenty states.
