  • The animals that PETA will euthanise have spent either a good majority of their lives in a tiny cage or are incredibly unhealthy/living in pain. The fact is, animal activists know that fighting with eachother will accomplish nothing. Not all of them agree with eachother's meathods...they wouldn't have seperate groups if they did. Animal activists are often stereotyped in our media as whiney, ignorant hippies that embrace beasiality...adding 'hypocrisy' to the list would make things worse.
  • What we need to do here is not attack PETA. We need to educate people on the importance of spaying / neutering their animals so that there is not such an overpopulation of pets in the world.
  • There are many groups opposed to the things that PETA and the HSUS are doing. The American Sporting Dog Alliance, National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA), AKC, rescuers, responsible pet owners, etc. See http://www.petakillsanimals.com/ for some eye-opening facts. Ironically, PETA supposedly collects money to save animals from being killed but then spends alot on advertising and killing animals and supporting breed-specific legislation and campaigning in every state to remove owners' rights. If one were to rationally follow their agenda, every domesticated animal would be spayed/neutered or euthanized and once every pet was adopted from the shelters, there would be no more pets. They actually don't want people to have pets and Ingrid has stated this. But my dogs prefer living room furniture and food in their bowls as opposed to finding it on the streets. I know because they came to the front door when they got out of the fence before. :) And if it weren't for obedience classes and walks and frisbee, they'd sleep all day long.
  • It sounds as though you probably already found some information on the tobacco, livestock, Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc., funded website called PETAkills.org. USA Today suggested their name should be changed to fatkills.org. I don't think you will find much luck in animal rights group bashing PETA as they are on the same side. Much better to stick to the anti-animal groups for propaganda in support of your cause. MvL, I may have jumped to a conclusion about you, and I apologize for that! I assumed you were one of the AB anti-animal types based on your question. They sometimes pose questions such as yours, and elsewhere are actively involved on AB discrediting vegetarians, and animals right groups. I didn't realize your stance on hunting being amoral, or that you are a vegetarian. I appreciate your ethics for that! If you did find some of your statistics on PETAkills.org, I suggest you look at who is backing them. Good day, MvL.
