This answer may be a little late...but I just came across it. In my experience as an experienced tattoo artist, th skin on the upper abdomen tends to weather pregnancy a whole lot better than the lower abdomen. Since during pregnancy, most of the weight settles down there. The skin also seems to be thicker at the top of the abdomen. I've had lots of requests from women that want their lower abdomen stretch marks to be covered up. So unless you're positive you're not going to have any children ever, I would recommend getting something higher up. Because even though not all women get stretch marks during pregnancy, most of them do. Its not a risk I would take if you want your body art to stay looking good.
