Go to the temple to find out. We find open discussion of such topics to be somewhat offensive. These are sacred matters you are dealing with oh profane one.

I searched AB and found mention of a compass, a square, and beehive as masonic symbols used on temples/lodges, but was not sure if these symbols were also present on the undergarment (not ever having seen such a thing before). http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/99143

No one has answered your question. I have certainly learned alot more about this topic than I knew before I attempted to answer this question. Its been really interesting doing the research. Thanks for that. Also, changing your pronoun from singular to plural is a veiled threat to intimidate. Isnt that interesting?

The symbols--for example, the compass and the square--are commonly associated with Freemasonry, but they have different meanings for faithful LDS members. As another answer has stated, they are to serve as a reminder of certain parts of the temple ceremony. As seanmcox states, open discussion of the temple ceremony is considered offensive by most Mormons, so please be considerate when asking such questions. However, you can find the actual text of the temple ceremony here: http://www.lds-mormon.com/compare1.shtml Search for "the mark of the square" (about halfway down the page); that should answer your question specifically.

After doing some research, I have found quite a few interesting websites discussing this subject and have added a link that I feel has the least amount of hate/ fear as the motivation for writing it. I think that until you do a little research of your own, or recieve a straight answer from an expert, this should at least give a start. http://www.utlm.org/onlineresources/masonicsymbolsandtheldstemple.htm
