I feed all kinds individually and some mixes depending on the season or time of year. I was feeding a terrific mixture that was called Sanctuary and didn't have any corn or millet and didn't attract those pesky birds like grackles and blackbirds, but it went up in price soooo high, I couldn't afford it anymore. I switched to making my own mix and still offering the individual seeds, too. We feed black oil sunflower, Nyjer or thistle seed in mesh feeders (love those!!!!!) safflower, hulled sunflower, peanuts both hulled and in shell. When I can find it I really like the Peanut Bits and Sunflower Hearts mix. Far from the house, near the pond I use corn as the ducks and geese seem fond of it and maybe the turkeys and grouse. I make my own suet cakes and add some of the seeds and peanut butter to those. For the fruit eaters, I add dried fruit like cranberries, apricots, and cherries. I've dried our own blueberries and tried offering those but they usually don't go for them, preferring the real thing LOL!!!
