I've pickled quail and duck eggs. I've cooked squab and emu and rattlesnake. Oh, and snails. Back in the 60s I made some turtle soup with my mother which isn't legal in the USA anymore.

Normal for others, but odd for me. I don't like or eat shrimp, but my husband likes it. I tried to make these shrimp kabob things. He said they chewed like rubber. oops

I haven't really cooked anything that I would consider unusual. But I am someone who likes so much that there isn't much that would be unusual for me. I would stay away from really odd stuff anyway. I haven't had quail eggs though. Do they taste the same as chicken eggs. I've seen them being cooked on Iron Chef.
