When you sit down to do some AB how do you decide what kinds of questions you're going to ask? Do you ask things you need answers for or opinions about? or do you try to come up with some good conversational stuff?

I never know where the inspiration for my questions will come from. SOmetimes from what I'm reading or some news story. Sometimes it opinions on music or sports. Or information that I'd like to know, I'm pretty sure some ABer will have the answer.

It depends on what's 'on top'. I've asked quite a few questions because I needed the opinions of others. Some I've asked out of intellectual interest. I tend to look for interesting questions to answer rather than the other way round, then I can get into some meaningful exchanges if I'm lucky. (With you, for instance :) - tho' I've been 'away' ill for a few days with a horrid flu bug, so have missed your stimulating mind.)

i always had good question on my mind and i never got a good answer for them. but i sure am glad to have some pretty darn smart people here. ^^

I have no particular intent, which is the fun of coming online, and Answerbag. This place is big enough so that everytime I come on I'm bound to find some interesting questions to participate in, meet some people or get into engaging conversations. Or look up stuff on Wiki or words in the dictionary, thanks Philosopher Saint. XD :) I'll ask questions if I need help with something, some are just plain silly and others out of interest, questions I can't ask anywhere else due to the subject or lack of interest from others. But here, almost anything goes, going with whatever flow it has to offer.

I just read down the list and when I think of an answer for a question, I answer it. I check the crafts section for any I may have missed since I left.
