Maybe a noose, but maybe a tree instead. It would have been a lot nicer. I bet you no one would have been hanged after that though. Because nobody would want to kil anyone the way Jesus died. Good question!

That is ONE DAMN GOOD QUESTion, maybe the first truly mind-stirring I see on AB. A german poet prayed once "God, make my enemies ridiculous". He says God granted his request. On THAT note, how ridiculous would it be to see people with nooses as a symbol of faith? It shows the fragility, foolishness and ridicule of human religions. Thank you for asking that, sir ! My two cents: The first symbol, used by pre-establishment christians was not the cross, like Hollywood and the papacy would like you to believe. It was "the fish", symbol of Jesus as fisher of men, after what he fated Peter to become. They embraced that symbol as a mark of their struggle to get as many people as possible to hear the good news of Jesus's sacrifice and be saved. Some bigwig priest or council probably decided that a fish wasn't impressive enough to be on a church's top, so they went with the cross. You might remember that these decisions were made when christian conversions were made with the sword, not with the word. Few would disagree at that point. It's all politics as usual. Two cents. ok so instead of spending days in horrifying pain and the vision of his torture as is shown to young children, as opposed to a nipple at half time, har har. we hang him...I think then all of christianity would be the kkk, quik decisive and making use of their numbers to delve out "judgement" as they have every minute of everyday for the past 3000 years. the only change would have been the speed of death, so your holy simbol would have to house several nooses and because of the lack of horror factor for inlisting kiddies, add a few necks, maybe a murderer and a theif. ROFL there never seems to be enough carnage in religious texts, cmon guys lets raise some real hell then well have something to fear huh?
