It sure makes me lazy. My favorite part of visiting Costa Rica was lounging in a hammock with a good book and a piña colada.

Yes! Have you ever heard anyone talk about "Thai efficiency", "The Sri Lankan Work Ethic" or "The Mexican Dream"? Hot muggy climes make you slow and drowsy, and just drain you. I know, I've lived in Thailand for several years. Here, A/C is proven to be the most effective way to enhance productivity ... and just activity.

In Hawaii life is at a slower pace...time is less meaningful..that is to say, programs start around the time they say they will..a few minutes before, a few minutes later. That doesn't mean the people are lazier..they can be dynamos at work..but outside of work, they kick back, relax, enjoy the scenery..I expect that is true of other pieces of Paradise, don't you? :)

I think so. Any hot country I've been to there are people lounging about the streets and parks, playinig guitars, smoking and enjoying themselves. The terraces are full and nobody seems to be in a rush to do anything.

Yes and no. I have been snowed in for a long time now and am getting really lazy. When the weather starts to get warmer I will be all active for a bit then I will get lazy again, sitting in the sun, drinking beer etc. Become a bum again.
