  • Its not only a valid request, its their liability. Just be sure you have proof their pet is responsible If they deny liability, you may need to seek a civil attorney.
  • Generally it isn't unless there was clear provocation on the part of the child and the pet had no history of injuring anyone else. Otherwise you have every right to ask them to pay the medical bills and you would most likely win if you had to take them to court.
  • Since they are liable then no. Just be prepared that there might be possibility that your friends will not pay the bills and you'll have to sue them in civil court.
  • The parents should pay, they should have insurance, either house or just on the pet, and if they don't have insurance, of course they should pay!
  • It never hurts to ask, but you first may want to find out if the person is liable and the pet is actually to blame. What kind of pet are we talking about? What happened?
