When the child is old enough to walk to the bathroom, is that the time to start to toilet train them?

There is a terrific book out there--hope it's still in print--by Azrin and Nunn called "Toilet training in less than a day." My five were each trained, and were happy about it, in 24 hours or less, and as a fringe benefit two of them immediately no longer needed a diaper at night.
