I am not in the position to decide such things.One can be a traitor to their own beliefs or principals and thus suffer by not being themselves.In a gang situation a traitor would be beat up or expelled from the gang.One can betray a friend and possibly loose that friend.

I'd let the ones they betrayed most decide. If I was the one betrayed, I'd probably look at them with pity, tell them that if they hoped to accomplish something, they failed miserably, and walk away calmly, not letting them know I cared a whit for what they did. That would bother them, I think, more than anything else I could do.
